Well, perhaps this child is not an official political activist... But this child was VERY interested in election results and woke me up at 3:00 so we could watch C-Span together. (S)he also was not interested in going to bed after watching C-Span, so we watched Babies, Special Delivery (bad idea) and the Cosby Show. Then we were tired again and went back to bed where Damon was snoring peacefully.
I just looked at our bank statement for the last week or so. I tallied up the amount of money we have spent on groceries between 10/30 and 11/7... It was TRIPLE our normal amount. $300.00!!! I really have no one but myself to blame. I have not been interested in cooking, and I am very picky about what I want to eat (often not knowing what "sounds good" until 4 or 5pm). So while I am in the grocery store picking out some bland or unintersting 'meal' for dinner, Damon is forraging about for food that will fill his manly tummy. He does need to keep his energy up so he can endure my near constant complaints of an aching belly or my unending flatulence. So it appears my grocery budget will need to expand right along with my waistline.
My hormones still feel pretty out of whack and I am anxiously awaiting the second trimester, also known as the 'honeymoon trimester." From all that I have read, I should start feeling less sick and more energetic in the next 2 weeks or so. When I get really upset, I just try to remember that there is a little person in there and that eventually, this will all be a distant memory. Pregnancy, however, is not the cakewalk I thought it would be. It is not nearly as glamorous either. I plucked a stray eyebrow hair yesterday... It had wandered ALL THE WAY DOWN to my right breast. How the hell did that happen?
You just have to laugh... That is all I can do, well, that and daydream about what my little ball of sunshine will look like-
