Over the last couple of days I have encountered some new things happening in my body. Big surprise :)
The majority of the "poking" sensations have disappeared except for the occasional one right in the middle of my lower belly. That is the only one I think could be the baby. All the rest I assume were/are probably stretching and growing sensations. In the next couple of weeks I should get "real" confirmation regarding the "quickening." (Does anyone else think "the quickening" sounds like a B grade horror movie?)
Sleep has become an interesting venture. About 2 nights ago, it became hard to take deep breaths when resting flat on my back. I assume that is the baby taking up more space, but it could be a chest cold...
And this mornings revelation? My ribs feel weird. I feel like I need stretch constantly. Did not expect that to happen. But it makes sense considering how little room there is for a baby in my belly!
Once I get over the shock of myself in the mirror, I quite enjoy "looking" pregnant. I find myself staring at this growing belly every time I pass my reflection. I am hopeful that my sickness and exhaustion are starting to wear off as well. I still cannot eat large meals, and I am usually pretty nauseated at bed time- but I am able to eat fairly normally again AND my "dead tiredness" is not hitting me until later in the afternoon. Maybe in a couple more weeks I will have all of my energy back. That would be great.
And one cute thing to end my post- My sweet, protective diva-cat Aretae has started a new unusual sleep position. In the cold months, she has always had the tendency to get under the covers, but NOW, she is sleeping with her furry little body splayed horizontally across my belly. I think perhaps she is communing with the baby and keeping him or her warm.
