Scan-a-thon

Registering- what an interesting experience...

I printed off a necessity list off of the internet found here.

I felt like it had a good list of things that were needed without adding in a bunch of crap that will merely take up space in my tiny house.

Babies 'r Us was by far the most overwhelming. When signing up to register, they hand you an audacious list of things to buy AND told me I would need 3 child seats in the first year (WRONG). Then, when we were done registering for the few things I had done research on, they printed of a list of things we HADN'T gotten in addition to the staples we had picked. Uhhh, I am not stupid. There is a reason I did not register for the light-up baby wipes warmer.

Target was much less stressful, though the selection was greatly reduced. Damon LOVED having the scan-gun to play with. He spent most of the trip scanning my boobs and my butt. Luckily, neither showed up on the actual list. We picked out a couple more staples and Damon would not leave without scanning on piece of Batman paraphernalia for the kid. Nothing says "baby's room" like a 24 inch plush Batman.

For the most part, we agreed on everything. I managed to find a swing that plugs in (Yay for no batteries) and a car seat that will fit in our small 2 door car.

The one "issue" I ran into was our difference in visions of the baby's room. I would like a little color- A little brightness... Preferably of the Orange or Pink variety. Daddy thinks green and yellow are plenty. BORING. We also disagreed on the color of cribs we want. I want white. White Crib, White Changing Table, and White Dresser... He wants it all to match the rocker, which is maple... This would be just fine if we did not already have to paint the dresser- It is currently a dark walnut veneer. You cannot "paint" that to match maple.

That is the one thing I do not get- where does my husband get the idea HE gets to do anything with the decor in this room. I am a girl, we are having a girl. That makes me inherently better at design... Right?

More fun ahead- Dr's Appointments move to bi-weekly now.
