My Beautiful Butterfly

Early in my pregnancy, I felt drawn to the color orange... Perhaps it is the warmth and sunshine it brings, perhaps it is simply because it would work well for a boy or a girl, I am uncertain. However, even after finding out I was having a girl, I chose to incorporate orange into the color scheme and made Mina a special blanket in a thriving hue of orange.

And now, since she has been born, we have been graced by Monarch butterflies. I do not recall seeing them this regularly...

Today, we were graced by them twice. First, upon leaving our house I saw three right all within arms reach, flitting between tree branches in our back yard. Then upon return, a single Monarch floated right by Mina's head- it almost seemed as if it was slowing down to catch a glimpse of my copper haired lovely. Though I reached, it was soon out of my grasp-

I still felt blessed and thankful. Thankful that the beauty of nature can still touch my heart and blessed by the precious butterfly in my arms- Mina amazes me everyday- and now when I see a Monarch dancing in the wind, I will be reminded of my gift of a daughter.
