The Baby Trampoline

Also known as my cervix... Yes, baby #2 (affectionately known as Darby- and NO this is not her real name) has not flipped head-down yet. I am pretty certain Mina was head down very early on. Not so much with miss Darby. She tramples my cervix every night and on more than one occasion, I have had to go to the bathroom to make sure she has not managed to break my water. Yes, I realize that is not very probable- but she kicks THAT HARD.

She also kicks me in the pubic bone. It feels not unlike the sensation of biting down on an unpopped popcorn kernel... It is sharp and almost shocking, but quickly fades.

I can definately feel the kicks growing stronger and I can feel her swirling around in there, winding up for a really swift roundhouse kick to my belly. Its very comical and a totally different experience from Mina- who did wiggle some, but preferred to stretch and push her feet directly into my lungs.

I do try to cherish every moment, this time around is going so much faster- but Darby's favorite time to practice her trampoline routine is as soon as I lay down to go to sleep, so it is difficult to miss.

This week she is the size of a foot long hot dog and weighs about 1 1/3 pounds- of course you would not know it by looking at me- I appear to be smuggling a watermelon. A watermelon that is making it hard for me to breathe.

Dr's appointment tomorrow- will make any updates as necessary- The girls room should be put together soon too. Will post pictures when it looks less like a swap meet in there.
