Lovely Jovie,
We really bonded this week- It has been a real joy watching you grow and change. You get bigger by the moment and though you are still very small I am in awe of how fast you are changing. Your arms and legs are filling out, and your face is changing- getting cuter by the minute. I had forgotten how quickly newborns change, in fact. You quickly grew out of your newborn sized diapers AND newborn sized clothes just after you turned 2 weeks old.
You are a true treasure of a child. You seem to sleep fairly well, and you have no trouble with nursing. I don't want to brag about it of course because things change in the world of newborns very quickly.
You smile a great deal, and I think I am getting hints of a "social" smile. I swear that yesterday while I was waiting in the doctor's office you looked right at me and grinned wide and bright. You did it again today, but I can't seem to get you to replicate it while anyone is watching, so it is not official yet.
I look forward to hearing you giggle and coo. We get little hints of your voice after you sneeze. You say "hoooo" almost as if you are exasperated by the force.
It is a real treat to watch your dad fall in love again. I will hand you off so I can take a shower or get something to eat and I will come back and he is nuzzling the top of you head with his chin or kissing your raven hair. He is smitten once again and he seems completely unashamed.
The thing I think I look forward to the very most is you interacting with your sister. When you do little things like hiccup or sneeze, she laughs uncontrollably- I can't wait for the day we are all in the car and get tickled about something and your dad has to pull over because we are laughing so hard.
I hope that is what you remember about your childhood- lots of laughter.
Love you bunches and bunches~
Mamma
