I realize to most people, my kid rolling over is boring. I understand, but I DON'T CARE.
Mina rolled over for the first time Saturday (the 11th). I set her on the ground for tummy time and I was surprised how very sturdy her wee head control was. She appeared to be a "J" that had fallen onto its flat edge. I got on my belly too (just out of her reach) and gave her lots of encouragement as babies are not huge fans of being on their tummies. She did her usual kicking of the feet and bobbing of the head- fussing, snorting, and being generally UN-AMUSED. Then miraculously she rolled over... Just rolled over.
She appeared to have done it on purpose as she raised her hands above her head "VICTORIOUS!"
I could hardly believe it- I was not expecting her to start rolling over another month or so... Of course I squealed and giggled and clapped my hands. She looked a bit confused as I showered her with kisses, but seemed quite content to accept them.
She replicated the rolling over on Sunday morning (a bit begrudgingly), and I imagine as time goes on she will start doing it more regularly, and by Christmas she will be crawling around the house at breakneck speed.
This confirms my belief that she is smarter than I am. When I tell her that, she giggles. It seems she is in on this great cosmic joke. It won't be long before she is spouting things like "Silly Mamma, a convex angle is a polyhedral angle that lies entirely on one side of each of its faces!"
Guess we better start saving for college!
