I just got back from the first one...
Overall, it went really well- But my morning blood sugar readings are high- every morning. Everything else is perfect and the diabetes educator was very kind and said I was doing a really good job. In fact, she said I was a dream patient… Perhaps that is because I did not balk when they offered to show me how to give myself insulin shots.
Insulin is a possibility- I will not know what our “course of action” is until my appointment this afternoon… And even then, it may take an additional appointment (with the new doctor) before I know if I am going to be asked to give myself insulin injections or what will be expected of me.
So- now I wait for my next appointment. However, I am getting my route between the hospital and work marked into my brain very well. More later.
