Wow- If I were to make it to my due date (which is highly doubtful given my size, my doc's philosophy, and the very frustrating fluctuations in my blood sugar) I would be 4 weeks away. Most probably I am 1-2 weeks away. I did a little nonchalant dowsing and got a day and an approximate time.
I now state these with complete lack of responsibility if they are wrong. However, if they are right, I will take full credit for them being right, and I plan to brag about it. Either way, I win:
Birth is to (possibly) occur on April 28th, 2007 between 2:45 and 3:00pm.
Damon said if she shows up on that date and time, he will eat his hat. I would like to see him eat a hat- that alone is motivation to get things going.
Other motivation? Swollen ankles, difficulty sleeping for more than 90 minutes at a time, inability to eat more than a hamburger's bun worth of carbs at lunch and dinner, getting up to check my blood sugar at 3 am, grunting while getting into or out of the car, frequent potty visits, insulin shots, and most importantly- MEETING THIS BEAUTIFUL BABY GIRL!!!
I will miss feeling these sweet little baby feet pushing up into my stomach, and I will miss Damon's kisses to my belly... But, I have done everything I can to enjoy each moment, and I hope that this kid can feel how much love I have for her already.
My waist has now grown by 12.5 inches. My pregnancy book says that my weight should stay the same from now until delivery, and if that is the case, I will probably continue to fluctuate between a gain of 21-25 pounds, depending on the degree of swolleness. 25 pounds is more than I had hoped to gain at the beginning of this pregnancy, but since my doctors are not worried, I am not worried either. I had not been gaining for a while (in fact, losing) and I got a small reprimand for that- but my body caught up. In one week... I gained 4 pounds. That was "interesting" to say the least. That is also about the time my ankles went from slim to sausage. Supposedly, much of this swelling will go away a couple of weeks after birth. Here is hoping.
I am attempting to get things ready here at work. Today I get to teach my boss and another employee how to handle bills and deposits. That should be fun. My plan is to have all of the ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY things (like invoicing, sales taxes, and other important government forms) finished on Tuesday of next week. Then I can hopefully "float" until I give birth.
Can't wait to meet this kid.
