My boss (a silver-haired, dogooder from an earlier time) sent me an email today. The subject was "My Bad."
On the way to work this morning I saw a billboard that said "Tea Gone Crizazy."
When did popular culture start moving SO QUICKLY? I am hoping that both of these instances are the "time and date" stamp on the toe tag of each pop culture reference.
I have never been a fan of "My Bad." If you screwed up, at least have the decency use a FULL SENTENCE to tell me you screwed up.
The "IZ" in the middle of words was not in my general circle of influence until my youngest brother went through a phase where he forgot that he was was a White Boy from the middle of small town USA.
I have a tolerance, and even some appreciation for rap as an expression- but my baby brother was going through that part of teen-dom where you MUST rebel against your parent's music and find something that will make them scream "Turn that racket OFF." (if I recall, I kind of skipped this phase due to the brainwashing of the Assemblies of God Church) The closest I got to rebelling was the occasional indulgence in Bush, Green Day, and Offspring to impress the boy I had a crush on...
Anyhow- To the 'My Bizad' popular culture postmortem, I bid you adieu. May you never be bitten by a zombie and therefore BECOME a zombie and torture me once again.
