WHY DO I SMELL BUBBLEGUM????

What possesses a 14 month old to rifle through her mother's purse and consume the contents therein?

Saturday, it was bubble yum bubble gum. Apparently, Mina found my last piece(in wrapper) at the bottom of my purse. Damon and I were talking and the scent of bubble gum wafted under my nose.

I turned to see Mina and a half-eaten piece of gum (AND WRAPPER) held tightly between her thumb and first fingers. She was looking at me innocently and saying "cheese." Apparently gum and cheese are the same- I guess the texture and white outer coating are roughly the same... However, the taste is vastly different... moving on.

When I removed said half-eaten, still-wrapped-in-the-wrapper confection from her fingers, she flipped out. CHEESE!!!! MMMMMM!!!! (mmm is more like a grunt of frustration)

I promptly put the gum (sans wrapper) in my mouth after giving her a very small piece. Then all was right with the world- She chewed a few victorious bites, swallowed the rice grain sized piece of gum and went about her business looking for more edibles in my purse.
