No Mina, We do not wear Toast on our Heads (aka 19 months)

Dear Mina,

Welcome to 19 months. You are 33 inches tall and you weigh 27 pounds. You look more and more like a kid everyday. Sometimes it is shocking-

This month we decorated our tree

and we took pictures for Meme's Christmas card- That was a mess! You took out so many poinsettias, I was afraid someone was going to ask me for money to replace them!!! Next year, we are going to have to do a collage card- there is no way that we will be able to get 3 kiddos to be adorable and still at the same time.

You have begun singing nearly full songs. Your favorites are Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, and the ABC song. Thanks to your father, you often get these two mixed up and sign "Twinkle twinkle little star, h i j k l m n o p." We also sing the "I love you" song from Barney, which I actually happen to LOVE because you throw yourself into my arms when we sing "great big hug" and press your cheek against my face when we sing about kisses. You will often break into pieces of a song and then split off into another one- or you will sing the same piece of a song over and over again... Like you have a song stuck in your head. Somehow that causes me to realize you are human. I guess I never doubted it, but there are times I forget- sometimes it feels like I am in some marvelous dream and you are a spirit coming to grace my life with joy and laughter.

We do laugh a lot- there are times it is impossible to hold ourselves in. At breakfast you might put your toast on your head and say "HAT," knowing full-well that toast is not for headgear. I can keep myself from laughing only long enough to get out a sentence like "no mina, we don't wear toast on our heads," or "no, we do not put cds in the dishwasher." Where you come up with your ideas is far beyond me. But they are worth noting, because I think they are brilliant.

Krismas is coming and I cannot wait. You are much more interactive this time around-

Love you bunches and bunches, my little tree worshipping heathen
