When we drop Daddy off for work, you still insist that he give Jovie a kiss, and give Mommy a kiss. This is cute, but possibly a peek at future miss bossy boots. You also demand (nicely) to hold Jovie. You ask to "care" which means "carry." A word you can easily say, but for some reason choose not to. Anyhow- you very much enjoy holding Jovie for longer periods of time.

She is not able to express her true feelings about it right now, but I have a feeling she thinks you are spectacular.

Your personality continues to blossom and there are some delicious moments that MUST be committed to memory.
We discovered that you LOVE brownies. Last weekend, Daddy had a headache, so to cheer him up, I made some brownies while he was resting. When they were finished, you very CERTAINLY knew it and were impatient for them. I told you we needed to wait until Daddy was up and before I could turn around, you had burst up the stairs with olympian-like speed and thrust the door open to our bedroom. You exclaimed "What are you doing daddee??? Are you hiding??? Its time for brownies!" And how could Daddy resist? You came down the stairs together, you smiling victoriously and kicking your feet in pure elation.
Yesterday, you wanted some cookies. We have no cookies. We had leftover brownies. You did not want said brownies, so you threw yourself on the floor. I left the room, chuckling to myself (and hearing my mother's voice saying "YOU DESERVE EVERY MOMENT OF THIS"). You followed me into every room I entered, sobbing and screaming about cookies, then throwing yourself onto the floor with delicious dramatic flair, only to hoist yourself up and follow me to the next room and repeat the process again. It was like something you would see in a sitcom.
You enjoy watching videos of yourself and you sister. Curiously, one of your favorites is of Jovie, VERY newborn, crying in the nursery. You can hear Daddy talking and when you ask for this video you say "Jovie Crying with my Daddy." Then you go on to explain that "mommy is at the doctor" during the video, which is true- I was being put back together at that very moment.
Lets see, what else? Most children about your age mimic what their parents do. So I would not have been surprised to see you "nursing" one of your dolls or changing their diapers. Instead- you offered a "bahboo" to your daddy. Which is cute to me and probably HORRIBLY embarrassing to you. If I recall, you were in the bathroom together, he had just got home from work and was deworkifying. You raised your shirt, pinched a nipple and said "Wantsome bahboo?" To which he replied "no thank you" and you returned "your turn, no thank you," and walked away. We were both puzzled and kind of stunned as to what to do- but you have not offered milk to anyone else, so I imagine it was a one time thing.
I have 2 favorite memories this month.
#1 is you singing "I Feel Love." We got it on video, with all of your curly-shaking glory.
#2 is from last night. You were wearing a black tutu, and had covered your chest in little yellow garage sale stickers. Then you commenced spinning. Have I told you how much I love hearing you giggle and watching you spin until you are dizzy? I wish we could have gotten a picture, but you move too fast now for "action" shots. Next time perhaps.
Right now, as you sleep in your big girl bed (YES!!! You have done it for 2 naps and 2 nights now!) I can't help but let my mind wander through the days and stages that have gotten us here. From that tiny little bundle with curled up legs, to the giggling peach who scooted backwards instead of crawling, to the batman man theme singing 14 month old- through two chrismases, two birthdays and now here... A champ of a big sister, a singer, an artist, a builder, a cook, and an engineer with a personality like that bubbles like a glass of champagne. What more could I ask for?
