Yesterday we trekked to go see Dr. Jane for Mina's well visit. I had to wake Mina from a nap, so I was a little anxious about behaving.
We got to the office on time, they brought us in almost immediately, and started doing the regular checks. Unlike all times past, Mina was a FIGHTER. She did not want ANYTHING done to her. No weighing no, no measuring, no nuffin. It was so stressful that I barely remember the numbers. I think she was 26 pounds and 31 inches tall (I call BS on the height because she was squirming and arching her back), I have no idea what her head circumference was. The nurse was trying to distract her, so gave her the ear thermometer. Mina tried to take her eyeball's temperature. That was kind of funny.
Got the all clear from Dr. Jane, we spoke while Mina paraded around the room in her diaper, and talked about the "Munny" (monkey) book she had just gotten.
Then shots, which took longer than usual because it was a new nurse and Mina is a fighter... Once they were over and we got calmed down, they gave Mina 2 stickers. Elmo stickers. Apparently Mina loves elmo... She stuck them to her legs.
This is a bad idea. Mina loved them so much, but then tried to remove one so she could restick it somewhere else- "OUCH!" I managed to get one off in pieces and it hurt, I am sure. The other is still there and if I go to touch it, she gets mad, and says "EMMO!" while touching the furry muppet face.
For future reference baby skin + sticker = pain
