So Far, So Good

First day back and I am pretty much caught up. Turns out everyone really pulled together to get things done while I was gone. That is a relief. Of course, I am just scratching the surface of what they did and there are probably some mistakes here and there- but I am glad to not feel totally overwhelmed right now.

Leaving Mina was not easy by any stretch of the imagination BUT she seemed comfortable with Meme, and we had enough milk to feed her for 5 feedings (I think/hope). I did leave some frozen back-up in the freezer. It is awfully weird to be leaving 30 ounces of your body fluids in your mother-in-law's fridge and freezer. But for us, it is far more pleasant than spending $25 bucks per can of formula.

I got a message from Damon around lunchtime letting me know Mina was doing just great. I am SO pleased. SO SO SO SO PLEASED. I now realize some of my anxiety was about Mina with Meme. Since my mother-in-law is being so kind and watching the bebe, I was worried Mina would freak out and perhaps make Meme regret her offer while stressing herself in the process.

Pumping at work has not been fantastic, but I have had two fairly successful pumping sessions with a hand (manual) pump. I am not expressing as much as I "think" I should be, but it will get easier. Once I get the electric pump up and running (and perhaps fashion some type of device to hold it to my chest) maybe I can take cat naps while the pump does its thing... That would be good since I am getting kind of tired right now.

Just over an hour and a half to go... Then I get to see my Mina... and Damon of course...

Speaking of Damon, he seemed really happy to have me in the car with him this morning. It was surprising. I guess I never really thought he would miss our time in the car together. Apparently he did, and he mentioned how the last time we rode together to work like that he could rub my baby belly. Good times.
